Pittsylvania County Economic Development is off to a great start for 2021! Four projects have already been announced this year. These projects total $63.8 million in new capital investments in our community and 168 new jobs. The projects announced so far this year are:
1️⃣ MEP, LTD: 45 jobs and $6.44 million in capital investments
2️⃣ Walraven, Inc.: 46 jobs and $7.15 million capital investments
3️⃣ J&J Trucking: 27 jobs and $5.2 million in capital investments
4️⃣ Intertape Polymer: 50 jobs and $45 million capital investments
Two of these projects are expansions of local companies, while the other two are companies choosing to locate in our region for the first time - showing that Pittsylvania County is active in both recruiting new businesses and ensuring that the companies already here can thrive and grow. In addition to those two announcements, we also had groundbreaking events for two major projects: Staunton River Plastics in Hurt and AeroFarms in Ringgold.
The positive economic momentum Pittsylvania County is experiencing can be attributed to targeted efforts from the Board of Supervisors, which include strategic partnerships with Danville and the entire region and investments in improving the economic success of our communities. Partnering together and making investments in advancing economic opportunities is what's driving our region forward.
"When it comes to improving the quality of life in Pittsylvania County, one of the primary driving factors is economic development. That's why this Board of Supervisors is so committed to making significant investments and furthering strategic partnerships that will bring even more success." - Bob Warren, Chairman of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors.
The best part? There are five more months in 2021.
